Here are some recommendations for some of Ann’s most respected non-Focusing “gurus” in areas that can support bringing your own work and your own voice into the world.
Robert Middleton: Marketing
Robert Middleton is a marketing genius! With his methods, marketing becomes a joy – I’m serious! – based on getting clear what you offer and building empathy for the people you’re offering it to. His web site is full of free materials that are so helpful you just know his paid products are great too. And they are. The InfoGuru Manual is so packed with juice I’m amazed he sells it for only $79.
If you’re puzzled by questions like:
• how to talk about your work so people want to know more
• how to write ads and brochures that get noticed
• how to create a website that moves people from interest to action
• how to turn mildly interested people into enthusiastic clients
• and more!
then Robert Middleton is your guy!
(I’ve studied with Middleton and I’ve adapted his teachings for Focusing teachers and guides in the Module One: Focusing Professionals course.)
David Allen: Organizing and Productivity
Who doesn’t struggle with getting more organized and being more productive? When I discovered David Allen’s book Getting Things Done, I was electrified. It’s not at all the same old advice about setting priorities (blah blah blah...). With a few key principles, David Allen changed my approach to ... getting things done ... forever. His approach is not only about being productive and accomplishing more, it’s also about being gentle with yourself and using the space that opens up in your life for what you really value.
Lee Glickstein: Public Speaking
Lee Glickstein is a remarkable guy who has found a way to help anyone be a spellbinding speaker. He reverses the usual advice to speakers and teaches you to receive first, rather than give! His work is all about Presence too, whether you want to be able to speak to hundreds of people or just be connected with yourself while speaking with anyone. He’s a gentle, brilliant, dynamic man who I’m proud to count as one of my friends and teachers.
Susan Harrow: Public Relations, Publicity, and Media Training
At first glance you might look at Susan Harrow’s materials and think, “Getting on Oprah! Media coaching! Is that really for me?” But the very same tips that help people shine on TV can help you write a website that gets results or an article that catches people’s attention. And I love the spirit of her book title: “Sell Yourself without Selling Your Soul.”

If you click here to sign in to Constant Contact, and tell them I recommended you, then you and I will each receive a $30 credit if you decide to become a paying member.
