A Focusing workshop for helping professionals
Do you ever wonder whether you are using the most facilitative language for your clients?
Sometimes they don’t feel anything... sometimes they get into their heads... sometimes they lose touch. It happens to everyone... but could some of those times have to do with the language you are using?
Would you like to be able to feel confident that the language you are using supports your clients’ process?
Facilitative Language is Gentle and Empowering
Facilitative language is like a gentle touch that opens doors into deeper process for the client to walk through.
I’ve been studying facilitative language for more than 30 years, and using it to guide sessions that bring me rave reviews from clients who feel supported at every step.
In this workshop, I’d like to show you a subtle and empowering language form based on the philosophy and practice of Eugene Gendlin (Focusing), so you can help your clients feel deeply understood while changing in ways that may surprise them.
What you’re doing is already working for you? Of course it is! And I respect that. I won't take away any tools that you already have, just add even more to your array of choices as you sit with someone.
Take this workshop to:
• increase your sense of confidence and ease with your clients
• help your clients find a stable relationship with overwhelming feelings
• support the power of the compassionate witness as an inner healing environment
• help your clients make deep contact with body-led emotional process
• work with “resistance” and “feeling nothing” as gifts rather than obstacles
This workshop is especially designed for therapists, counselors, coaches, bodyworkers who want to work with verbal expression, and anyone who would like to increase your ability to use language to help another person be in touch with feelings while not being overwhelmed.
I’ll have handouts and stories, do demonstrations, and give you opportunities to practice and discuss.
Prerequisite:
It is recommended, but not required, that you have taken Level One with any Focusing teacher prior to attending this workshop.
